Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will my vehicle be transported safely?

The United States Department of Transportation license and regulate all vehicle transport companies and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) develops, maintains, and enforces federal regulations. You can check on the licensing and performance at
www.fmcsa.dot.gov .

Roadside Auto and Truck Transport Company is fully licensed with the United States government. Our MC# 319082. We are also fully insured with $2,000,000 liability insurance and up to $350,000 cargo insurance.

Q: How do I get a quote?

You can get a free quote by calling (847) 249-4300 or

Q: How long will it take to pick up and deliver my vehicle?

Generally a coast to coast trip can take from ten (10) to fourteen (14) days. We ask, however, that you give us notice at least ten (10) days prior to your requested pick up date. In your doing so, we have a greater chance of picking up your vehicle on or as close as possible to your requested date. Shorter trips can take anywhere from three (3) to ten (10) business days, depending on the distance (also with notice). Pick up and delivery dates are the estimated times and are no guarantee. Delivery delay may be due to unforeseen events (traffic, inclement weather, and truck break-downs).

Q: Many companies offer a door-to-door service. Do you offer a door-to-door service? And are there any additional fees?

We do offer a door-to-door service and we will pick up your vehicle as close to your house as possible. However, many city and state laws prohibit large trucks from traveling on many city streets. Also the large size of our trucks makes it nearly impossible to navigate on small city streets and could cause damage to public or private property, our truck, or, even worse, your vehicle. In these situations, where our trucks can not make it to your residence, we offer a driver to door service for your convenience (an additional fee will apply).

Q: Can I leave my personal items in the trunk?

Due to the federal and state department of transportation (D.O.T) regulations, we are prohibited to transport personal goods. Only items that normally come equipped are allowed (i.e. spare tire, jack etc.) Not only is it illegal, anything that is left in the car is uninsured and is not the responsibility of roadside or our driver.

Q: Can you transport a vehicle that does not run?

Yes we can. However, because getting your car on the truck involves more labor, there is an additional fee for transporting these vehicles. Please let us know when you call or fill out the
quote form if your vehicle does not run.
